POSITION SUMMARY:
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under the supervision of the Senior Program Director, the Coordinator of Rentals & Retreats is responsible for leading a variety of safe, engaging camp activities, supporting hospitality services, and performing general camp operations. This role serves as a friend, mentor, and positive role model to all groups utilizing the camp. The Coordinator must demonstrate a strong understanding of the YMCA’s mission and values and possess a genuine desire to work with children, adults, and diverse group populations. Successful candidates will bring strong leadership skills, enthusiasm, patience, a sense of humor, and sound judgment. This position includes coverage of one Manager on Duty shift per week. The Coordinator of Rentals & Retreats leads the Cleaning Crew and reports directly to the Senior Program Director. Additional responsibilities include maintaining inventory and condition reports for all department-related supplies, ensuring rental facilities and general camp areas are clean, safe, and well maintained, and collaborating closely with the Inclusion Program for young adults who assist with facility cleanliness.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Be a role model for & develop positive meaningful relationships with youth.
● Provide children with the opportunities to make new friends and learn new activities.
● Be concerned with camper development & growth.
● Be aware of health and safety concerns.
● Ensure that each and every camper is included in the group.
● Ensure that Camp Erdman is a positive and memorable experience instilling a strong desire to return to every camper.
● Be consistent in following program policies and standards operating procedures.
● Work toward a team spirit and effort among the staff and children.
● Be on time for work and meetings.
● This position requires the Program Instructor to live on-site at Camp Erdman, in housing as assigned by the Camp Director Team.
● Other responsibilities depending on bandwidth and demands, negotiated between Retreats Director and Retreats Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Experience working with children or adults in a camp or outdoor recreational setting required.
● Requires understanding of childhood development and group management in a general camp setting.
Education/Training:
● Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
● CPR/AED and First Aid required.
● TB test required.
● Must be able to successfully complete YMCA Camp Erdman’s High Ropes Facilitator Training.
● Must be able to successfully complete YMCA Lifeguard Training.
● College degree is preferred.
● YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard Certification preferred.
● Ropes facilitation experience preferred.
● Willingness to become YMCA Mini Bus certified preferred.
