COMPENSATION:

$25.00 - $29.00 Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:
At the YMCA of Honolulu, we champion a culture of inclusiveness, connection, and continuous growth. The YMCA is seeking a motivated and innovative Talent Acquisition Specialist to design and implement effective recruitment processes and best practices to meet staffing needs across multiple departments, including Aquatics, Membership, Healthy Lifestyles, and Youth. This role oversees the full recruitment life cycle, collaborates with internal and external partners, and champions Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) throughout the talent selection process.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Recruitment Lifecycle Management:
    • Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle, including application screening, interviews, background checks, onboarding, program placement, and training, while ensuring seamless new hire integration through the YMCA’s 90-day onboarding process.
  2. Collaboration and Partnership Building:
    • Act as a liaison with internal leaders and external partners to build relationships, address workforce needs, and expand recruitment pipelines.
  3. Innovative Recruitment Strategies:
    • Develop diverse sourcing strategies, utilize data and market tools to meet                 hiring needs, and enhance the candidate experience for a seamless recruitment process.
  4. Advancing DEI Initiatives:
    • Integrate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion principles into all aspects of the hiring process and recruitment strategies.
  5. Advisory and Relationship Building:
    • Build trust with stakeholders as a recruitment advisor and collaborate to align staffing solutions with organizational goals.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in human services, social services, recreation, or a related field preferred. 
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Human Resources or Talent Management required.
  • Skills: Requires knowledge of human development, group work, program and staff development, and proficiency in management, communication, and Google Suite tools. Must be organized, people-oriented, and capable of multitasking, with strong interpersonal skills to lead and collaborate with diverse populations. Demonstrates empathy and innovation in fostering relationships with community organizations and ensuring successful program outcomes.
